Wangi Falls

Wangi Falls is a large body of water for optimum swimming.  It is clear and refreshing, but be sure to bring your own flotation device because you will want to explore it fully.  There are some nice grass areas around, perfect for a picnic.

Buley Rockhole

Buley Rockhole is a usually the first stop in Litchfield National Park.  You will find a cascading series of rock pools, perfect to get your body wet in the stream.  It involves limited climbing to get into the water but is exposed to the sun so bring a hat. There are shaded tables along the path to the rocks for luncheon.

Florence Falls

Florence Falls is another place for a good swim - the falls cascade into a plunge pool below.  Again, you want to bring a flotation device, but remember getting to Florence Falls involves walking down a large number of stairs - and what goes down, must come up.

Magnetic Termite Mounds

As you drive into Litchfield National Park, you should stop at the termite mounds, if only for a quick look.  There is a lookout and you will be shocked at what those little guys can do.

Premium accommodation at Litchfield is the Hideaway cabins.  Places are very limited so make sure you book ahead if you want to stay in the bush in comfort and style.

Litchfield Outback Resort

Litchfield Outback Resort is outside of the National Park, but a short drive.  Its pool and restaurant are the key features of this location.  All in all, it is not a bad stay.
